King T’Challa, also known as the Black Panther, came through to the Super Bowl and shut the whole game down.
T’Challa stars in the spot, Long Live the King, with the all-new 2018 Lexus LS 500 F Sport. The agency behind Long Live the King, Walton Isaacson, was founded by an African-American man, Aaron Walton. Plus the executive producer of the spot is Shauna Williams, one of very few women of color to produce a Super Bowl spot.
The 30-seconds of hypeness features the track “Legend Has It” from famed hip-hop duo, Run the Jewels, and was directed by Samuel Bayer. Die-hard fans will notice that snippets from the film were taken, and will note the cannon detail in the portrayal of Black Panther’s Dora Milaje guards.
