“Child’s Play” Remake Launches Buddi Doll Website1 week ago by Amber Le in Movie News
The Child’s Play remake isn’t hitting theaters until June 21, 2019 but Orion Pictures is already building anticipation for it’s release. Earlier in the week, the entertainment company launched a fake toy website, teasing the doll named Buddi as opposed to the OG, Chucky. As we skim through the fake merchandise, we discover that Buddi has a computer system that allows him to not only identify speech but gives him the capability of learning human interaction. His 20 sensors and cameras provide detailed real time information about his environment, therefore giving him thequalities of an actual person.
The fake website also provides 2 colorful wallpapers, one of the doll holding a knife dripping blood and the other seems somewhat harmless, as Buddi holds a gift and a candy cane in a snowy background.
Aubrey Plaza is the leading lady in the remake who gives her son, played by Gabriel Bateman, Buddi for his birthday. There’s an elite team behind the production of Child’s Play including screen writer Tyler Burton Smith and director Lars Klevberg. The remake is being overseen by Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg, who teamed up to produce It.
