This is truly a sad day in the hip hop industry. The notorious Craig Mack passed away at the age of 46 due to heart failure on Monday. Alvin Toney, a longtime friend who collaborated with Mack for his 1994 debut, Project Funk Da World, confirmed his death via Daily News. He went on to the source that he just linked up with Mack a week ago and that he mentioned he was struggling with an illness but never specified exactly what.
With a rise to stardom in the early 1990s with the classic “Flava in Ya Ear,” back in 1994. He influenced many and his death has effected the music game as a collective. We are all deeply saddened by this news.
