Tab Hunter, one of the greatest heartthrob and gay icon, has recently passed at the age of 86. He died yesterday night in Santa Barbra after blood clot in his leg, caused by a cardiac arrest.
With his All-American look, wavy blonde hair, piercing blue eyes, and a toothy smile, Hunter rose to the top as Hollywood’s leading men in the 1950’s and 1960’s.
He starred in movies such as, Damn Yankees and Battle Cry, and had chart topping records such as Young Love.
There were rumors of him being gay, but in this era, it was culturally wrong to be homosexual. As Hunter got older, in 2005 he comes out saying that he was gay with the publication of his autobiography Tab Hunter Confidential: The Making of a Movie Star. He was gay rights activist and icon to all the movements.
