Drake Addresses Being Called A “Culture Vulture”6 days ago by Amber Le in Uncategorized
Things got a little heated during an interview with Tiffany Calvar of BBC’s 1Xtra Rap Show over the weekend when Drake made a guest appearance. Music heads love Drizzy and what he’s been trying to do for aspiring artists. While most take this as a humble and kind gesture, others labeled him a “culture vulture.” The Toronto rapper is tired of hearing it and broke it down to the public.
“I hate that people think that, like, me being into music from these kids who are trying to make it and trying to build a name for themselves, it’s like, ‘Oh, that’s some culture vulture.’ What does that even mean? I don’t understand what that means. Would you rather me not acknowledge anything or support? That’s some real confused hater sh*t. It is what it is. I see it a lot. I’ll never understand how supporting someone’s song or going a step further and giving someone a song, linking up, I’ll never understand how that’s not viewed as something admirable.”
Drizzy is currently in Europe for his Assassination Vacation Tour where he brought out artists such as J Hus, Krept & Konan. Opinions have been varying between the label and the co-sign, Wiley, a U.K. artist took it upon himself to call Drake out for it to which he responded.
“It was Wiley that said that. I just said his name cause I felt liek that was some goofy sh*t. But yeah, I just didn’t like that. Like what are you talking about?”
