It has been officially announced by Paramount pictures corporation and Oscar winning Costume designer, Ruth Carter that there will be a sequel to the 1988 comedy classic Coming to America. Ruth released two pictures on Instagram of some behind the scene costume fitting for the upcoming sequel. The movie stars legendary comedian Eddie Murphy who took on the role of Prince Akeem from the fictional African nation of Zamunda. The classic film also co-stars Arsenio Hall, James Earl Jones, Shari Headley, and John Amos. Eddie and Aresenio will both be reprising their roles from the original film in the sequel, Coming to America 2. Although the plot of the sequel is currently unknown, we are most certain that the film will have many iconic costumes for the cast.

“Prince Akeem (Eddie Murphy) is the prince of a wealthy African country and wants for nothing, except a wife who will love him in spite of his title. To escape an arranged marriage, Akeem flees to America accompanied by his persnickety sidekick, Semmi (Arsenio Hall), to find his queen. Disguised as a foreign student working in fast food, he romances Lisa (Shari Headley), but struggles with revealing his true identity to her and his marital intentions to his king father (James Earl Jones).”
