Jay-Z’s Roc Nation to Executive Produce “Naughts & Crosses”2 weeks ago by Amber Le in TV News
Roc Nation will forever shine bright with a roster filled with elites and a CEO who is a walking franchise. Jay-Z has been making plenty of moves this year in the film industry uch as Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story along with an upcoming docu-series with Meek Mill and opening up the Roc’s TV division. It seems as though the Hip Hop legend is dabbling into movie mayhem. He’s recently just linked up with Participant Media to be executive producers of the television series, Naughts & Crosses, based off Malorie Blackman’s series of novels. The Roc will also be running the soundtrack aspect of the project.
Naughts & Crosses takes place in a different dimension where society is reversed. Black America is not suffering from discrimination and criminal injustice, White America is. Sounds interesting already, entertainment that has a meaning is what Hov is best known for as he continues to be a powerful voice for the culture. The adaptation revolves around two youngings, Sephy and Callum, who are divided by the color of their skin but teamed up trying to fight for justice.
Patrick Reardon of Roc Nation expressed his excitement to be involved in the series.
“We are thrilled to partner with Mammoth Screen and Participant Media on this series, which explores issues of race and discrimination through such a provocative and unexpected lens.”
