Johnny Depp Sued For Punching Crew Member On ‘City of Lies’ Set1 week ago by Kristin Paradisis in FILMS, Movie News
A film crew member on a Los Angeles movie set is claiming in a new lawsuit that actor Johnny Depp punched him twice in the ribs. The alleged incident took place on the set for a film about the murder of rap legend Notorious B.I.G. Filed Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, the lawsuit states that Depp shouted obscenities at the film crew member and then struck him twice in the ribs.
Location manager Gregg “Rocky” Brooks is the man behind the lawsuit and he has also claimed that Depp offered him $100,000 to “punch back” after hitting him in the ribs. Brooks provides that he was let go from the City of Lies project following his refusal to sign papers stating that he would not sue over the incident.
The location manager has alleged that the incident took place in April 2017 after the film’s director asked Brooks to tell Johnny Depp that the next shot would be the last of the filming day. Multiple sources have reached out to Johnny Depp’s representatives for comment and none have returned any responses.
Within City of Lies, Depp plays L.A.P.D. detective Russell Poole, who has spent years trying to solve the murders of rappers Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur. City of Lies is set for release on September 7, 2018.
