Kevin Hart Will Not Be Returning As 2019 Oscars Host2 weeks ago by Amber Le in Trending
It’s official. Kevin Hart is standing by his decision to step down and will not be hosting the Oscars. It was reported earlier today that the comedian is not going to take his gig back when it comes to the award show.
After having a conversation with Ellen DeGeneres about the possibility of returning to his hosting gig, he’s decided to make it clear that he will not be taking the job back. Although he was flattered to have DeGeneres’ support amongst many others, he’s going to humbly decline.
“The Oscars is no longer about Kevin Hart stepping on that stage and taking an intense night where people are so uptight and making it loose and fun. Now all of a sudden, it’s a little darker, because the conversation isn’t about me hosting the oscars. The conversation is about Kevin Hart’s tweets from 10 years ago and homophobia.”
Deadline emphasizes on his reasoning as to not be a distraction during the 91st Academy Awards Ceremony.
“Ultimately, Hart felt his hosting would become a distraction, a continuing controversial narrative that would take the spotlight off the people and movies being honored. He also grew concerned at the limited amount of time he would have had to prepare.”
People are wondering who will be replacing hosts but apparently, no one will. Instead, actors and actresses will be presenting the awards to their colleagues at the Oscars this year.
