LL Cool J & Ice Cube Are Bidding On Sports Networks2 weeks ago by Amber Le in TV News
LL Cool J and Ice Cube are planning some boss moves as the two are “looking to bid on 22 regional sports channels.” Reason being is that Disney took over 21st Century Fox and the Justice Department stepped in and they’re not having it. The lawmakers believe that one company should not be able to own all of Fox’s sports networks while also owning all of ESPN so they are forcing the entertainment company to sell Fox Sports San Diego, Fox Sports Arizona, Fox Sports Detroit, Fox Sports Southwest, and a few others including the YES Network.
The YES Network broadcasts the New York Yankees games and their fanbase are one of the most loyal when it comes to sports teams. Disney stated the network is worth over $5 billion. The deal for all 22 of the sports channels has been estimated to be around $15 billion – $25 billion. Bids are due November 8th.
