It seems we’ll be watching the sequel to Maleficent sooner than expected with Disney’s new release date, title, and poster of the movie. Now it has been proclaimed that the Disney movie will be coming to theaters on October 18, 2019 starring the returning actresses Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning. It was previously expected to open next summer in 2020.
Previously, Disney referred to the movie title as Maleficent II, but now has a new subtitle – Mistress of Evil – executing the sequel. You’ll now see the title, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil. Below is the new poster, which shows Angelina returning to the title role.

Here’s the films official synopsis:
“A fantasy adventure that picks up several years after “Maleficent,” in which audiences learned of the events that hardened the heart of Disney’s most notorious villain and drove her to curse a baby Princess Aurora, “Maleficent II” continues to explore the complex relationship between the horned fairy (Angelina Jolie) and the soon to be Queen (Elle Fanning), as they form new alliances and face new adversaries in their struggle to protect the moors and the magical creatures that reside within.”
