History has been made with the 2018 Emmy Awards nominations. One of the nominees is Sandra Oh, who is the Asian actress to be nominated for an Emmy for a lead role in a drama series. She has been in the supporting category five times for her decade long performance of Dr. Cristina Yang on Grey’s Anatomy.
Oh received the nomination for the new BBC thriller, Killing Eve, a story that revolves around Eve Polastri (Oh), an officer chasing down an assassin. The two become obsessed with each other along the way and according to Variety, “It’s a complicated role that also requires precise cosmic timing, and Oh nails every aspect of it.”
It’s clear that the actress is not new to the Hollywood industry. She’s appeared in movies such as The Princess Diaries, Under the Tuscan Sun, Big Fat Liar and Double Happiness. She was born in Canada after her parents migrated over from Korea.
