“Us” Will Open SXSW’s Film Festival2 weeks ago by Amber Le in Movie News
It’s official. Jordan Peele’s upcoming horror flick, Us will open SXSW’s Film Festival. The event is taking place in March. Indie creatives of all types come together on this day to celebrate and showcase their talent while embracing others. From concert stages to guest appearances, artists from all over the country gather in Texas for a couple of days ready to network.
This will be the second time that the festival will be opening up with a horror movie. A Quiet Place, starring John Krasinski and Emily Blunt, started off the festivities. Peele is extremely excited to introduce the concept to Us.
“I dedicated a lot of myself to create a new horror mythology and a new monster. I think that monsters and stories about monsters are one of our best ways of getting at deeper truths and facing our fears as a society.”
