Watch Shaq Interview With ‘Real Sports’ On Life After The NBA2 weeks ago by Edward Antonelli in TV News
Former NBA player Shaquille O’ Neal took the time to appear on HBO’s Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel. They spoke on the business brand Shaq has created for himself following an impressive basketball career.
Shaq portfolio includes a Krispy Kream donut shop in Atlanta, part-owner of the Sacramento Kings, General Insurance spokesperson, and investor in Ring alarm system which was recently sold to Amazon for $1 billion. He also sells products in his name such as suits, sneakers, and even glasses. While his best year in the NBA netted him around $30 million a year, the big man is now getting paid even more. While no real figures were mentioned, Gumbel hinted at a $100 million figure and Shaq business partners said that his sources were pretty accurate.
Growing up with his two parents who kept Shaq educated and aware of the possible downfalls of the fame kept a good shoulder on the 7’1″ star. He also remembers how his family grew up and is humble enough to offer products at the fairest prices possible.
