“Wonder Woman: 1984” Is Not A Sequel2 months ago by Amber Le in Movie News
Wonder Woman: 1984 is not a sequel and DC is emphasizing upon that statement. Wonder Woman was a film that had everybody on the edge of their seats. It was so perfectly put together and who else but Gal Gadot to star as such a powerful character. Details regarding production have been slim to none but slowly, a few hints are surfacing on the web.
During an interview with Vulture, Producer Charles Roven mentioned that the word “sequel” is not the proper label for the second installment of the franchise.
“She was just determined that this movie should be the next iteration of Wonder Woman but not a sequel. And she’s definitely delivering on that. It’s a completely different time frame and you’ll get a sense of what Diana-slash-Wonder Woman had been doing in the intervening years. But it’s a completely different story that we’re telling. Even though it’ll have a lot of the same emotional things, a lot of humor, a lot of brave action. Tugs at the heart strings as well.”
Another source compared the film to Indiana Jones and James Bond.
“It’s a stand alone film in the same way that Indiana Jones or Bond films are, instead of one continuous story that requires many installments.”
