21 Savage Breaks Silence On ICE Detainment1 month ago by Amber Le in Trending
21 Savage finally broke his silence this morning since his ICE arrest. Since the detainment happened, the Hip Hop community have been rooting for the Atlanta rapper, hoping that he will soon be freed. Even though he was locked up for longer than he should have been, he was finally released earlier this week. He addresses why he kept his birth home private and why he feels as though he was targeted.
Many people were ridiculing the rapper for being from the United Kingdom and failing to mention that. Savage has always claimed Atlanta and he’s been there for over 20 years so why would he not? He made it clear that he wasn’t hiding the fact for his image, his reasoning was very straightforward, he didn’t want to be deported.
“I wasn’t hiding it. But it’s like, I didn’t want to get deported so I’m not finna just come out and be like ‘by the way, I wasn’t born here’ to the world. I’ve been here 20 years. This is all I know.”
When speaking about the arrest, Savage said he was driving around on Super Bowl Sunday when the incident happened and he knew the moment he heard law enforcement state “We got Savage” that it was something far more serious than a traffic ticket. He does believe he was targeted being that the events were too coincidental in timeline. A few days earlier, he dropped a video to his song “a lot” featuring J.Cole where he spoke out against the immigration laws of America. His lawyers co-sign with the targeted allegations.
