Beyoncé never has to say a word. When it comes to project promotion, Beyoncé seems to stick to silence as her golden routine. If you can, think back to 2014 when she promoted her “711” single for her surprise self-titled album ‘Beyoncé’. Bey taunted paparazzi by allowing them to photograph her drinking from a large plastic 7-Eleven cup, subtly previewing to us what was to come by dangling information right in front of our noses. This weekend, she kept to that same habit when she was seen at her mother, Tina Knowles’ annual Wearable Art Gala event in Los Angeles.
There has been little commentary from her camp in relation to her participation in the 2019 live-action version of The Lion King. Without speaking, she allowed her wardrobe to do the talking. Standing more than 5 feet and 7 inches tall, she was photographed in a gold-beaded jeweled bodysuit with a neckline embroidered to resemble the face of a lion. Sprouting from the embroidered cat face were intricate layers of golden feathers, which draped across her collar bones and fell across her shoulders to meet with a lightweight golden cape – the garment was truly fit for a feline! She paired the bodysuit with her signature sandy blonde tresses straightened and pulled back from not only her face, but the lion’s as well. The look made several headlines and has since stirred up even more anticipation for 2019’s Lion King. Shortly after the photographs of Beyoncé went viral, a trailer for the film was released to the public. The trailer revealed that Beyoncé will be playing the main character Simba’s love interest, Nala.
The Lion King is set to release in theaters everywhere on July 19, 2019.
