A new trailer for Resolution Games and Wizards of the Coast‘s Dungeons & Dragons virtual tabletop game has been revealed.
According to the short clip, the new D&D game titled Demeo X Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked will use the Demeo Action Roleplaying System and the world and lore of the original gaming franchise. However, it won’t contain a Dungeon Master system like the average D&D game. The game will focus on strategy instead of roleplay.
“By harnessing the capabilities of the Demeo system, Resolution Games is able to offer a fresh take on Dungeons & Dragons, focusing on quick, turn-based combat and accessible, pick-up-and-play mechanics,” said Eugene Evans, SVP of Digital Strategy & Licensing at Wizards of the Coast.
“Battlemarked is part of Hasbro’s ongoing strategy to utilize our rich portfolio of iconic intellectual properties to create digital games, both through licensing and in-house development. By teaming up with top-tier developers, we aim to deliver new and innovative gaming experiences across all platforms for our fans to enjoy.”
“Since launching Demeo in 2021, we’ve built an incredible connection with the D&D community,” said Tommy Palm, founder and CEO of Resolution Games.
“Demeo and Demeo Battles quickly became a go-to alternative for Dungeon Masters looking for a fun, out-of-campaign way to engage with their groups, and for D&D fans to introduce friends and family to the world of tabletop miniatures. With Demeo X Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked, we’re expanding that appeal by bringing D&D’s classes, actions, and lore into the fold, creating a whole new experience designed from the ground up with D&D in mind.”
Demeo X Dungeons & Dragons will soon be available on multiple platforms and support cross-platform play for up to four players. Although the specific platforms haven’t been revealed yet, the game will launch with two campaigns, with additional content planned for the future. A release date hasn’t been announced yet.
