An Unexpected ‘Avatar’ Movie Arrives Before ‘Avatar: Fire And Ash’

An unexpected Avatar movie is dropping before Avatar: Fire and Ash. To give fans a better understanding of the movie’s creation, James Cameron is dropping a two-part documentary called Fire and Water: Making the Avatar. The documentary is said to “offer a deep-dive into the making of 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water as well as a glimpse at the upcoming Avatar: Fire and Ash with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with cast and filmmakers.” Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, and Kate Winslet will reprise their respective roles. The movie also stars Sigourney Weaver as Kiri, Stephen Lang as Colonel Miles Quaritch, Oona Chaplin as Varang, Cliff Curtis as Tonowari, Jack Champion as Spider, Winslet as Ronal, Giovanni Ribisi as Parker Selfridge, and more. It’ll premiere on Disney+ on November 7, 2025.
