‘Avatar: Fire and Ash’ Ignites With Final Trailer & First Full Scene

Get ready to enter a dark new era that dawns on Pandora

James Cameron is officially turning up the heat on Pandora. 20th Century Studios has unveiled the final trailer and first full scene from Avatar: Fire and Ash, offering the most explosive look yet at the franchise’s third chapter. Arriving December 19th, the sequel follows The Way of Water’s massive $2.3 billion global success.

Varang Takes Center Stage

The trailer wastes no time introducing the saga’s newest and most formidable villain: Varang played by Oona Chaplin. Surrounded by embers, she declares, “Fire is the only pure thing in this world,” while flames curl around her fingers. Unlike past human-driven threats, this danger comes from within Pandora itself. We also see Kiri, played by Sigourney Weaver, sensing that the elders are hiding critical truths, hinting at a deeper spiritual journey ahead.

A Battle Of Fire, Family & Survival

Varang’s alliance with Na’vi Quaritch, played by Stephen Lang sparks a brutal call to arms: “Burn them all.” Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) brace for the worst—warning their children to run if they don’t return. The grief of losing Neteyam in the previous film lingers heavily, raising the emotional stakes.

A fiery montage closes the trailer, punctuated by Spider (Jack Champion) yelling at Quaritch: “Do not test me!”

First Full Clip: The Ash People Strike

The newly released scene raises the tension even further. Varang and her Ash People stalk the Sully children through the jungle, moving with a terrifying shriek and speed. Lo’ak (Britain Dalton) leads his siblings—Kiri, Tuk, and Spider—to safety underwater, reminding them of their unbreakable creed that “Sullys never quit”.

A New Generation Takes The Lead

Fire and Ash signals a major narrative shift as Lo’ak becomes the franchise’s new narrator, setting up the younger generation to drive the story forward. Marketing teases dramatic developments for Spider—including a moment of him breathing on Pandora without a mask—while Kiri’s connection to Eywa appears more crucial than ever.

And the biggest question fans are asking: Is Jake Sully’s time running out? As footage of him captured and wounded suggests this chapter may reshape the family forever.

A Franchise Evolving In Fire

From new antagonists to heightened emotional stakes, Avatar: Fire and Ash looks primed to deliver the saga’s darkest and most visually explosive entry yet. As the Sullys face their greatest threat and Pandora reveals deeper mysteries, Cameron is preparing audiences for a defining chapter in the epic series. Nonetheless, on December 19th, Pandora burns and the Sullys fight back.
