This 1986 Tony Scott film returns with Tom Cruise interested in reprising his role for the still unofficially titled Top Gun. The sequel is said to be in a drone, never-seen-before 6G technology world. After Goose — Maverick’s best friend — tragically dies in the 1986 film, he leaves behind a son. The “Top Gun” sequel will star newcomer Teller, who is set to play Goose’s now-grown son. Maverick will take Gooses son under his wing.
Also starring Jon Hamm who mentioned about the upcoming film
They’re using some technology on this that is never before seen. We’re shooting the movie in, I think, 6K. So it’s incredibly hi-def. The aerial footage is mind-blowing,” Hamm told the outlet. “And it’s mostly practical. There’s not a lot of CG. Those guys are really up in planes and getting thrown around in multiple Gs.”
The film will be directed by Joseph Kosinski who’s previosuly collaborated with Tom Cruise on Oblivion in 2013.
Paramount Pictures has set Top Gun sequeal release date for June 26, 2020.
