The third installment of Denis Villeneuve’s Dune movie series has an official title, but it isn’t the one you think. Although there was speculation about the film being called Dune: Messiah, it will be named Dune: Part Three instead. The movie is currently under production. It’s being partially shot with IMAX camera, unlike Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film The Odyssey.
Timothée Chalamet, Zendaya, Florence Pugh, and Jason Momoa, are all reprising their roles from the first two movies. Villeneuve also returns as director, continuing the vision he began with the franchise. In the last film, Chani, played by Zendaya, left Paul after he led the Fremen into war. That’s different from the book, where she stays with him. So this next movie may need to adjust parts of the story to match what Villeneuve already set up.

There’s also a big 12-year time jump between Dune: Part Two and Messiah, which gives the filmmakers room to explore new storylines and characters. Even if Paul isn’t the main focus, his journey is still an important part of the trilogy.
