Eric Andre has made a career out of antics most celebrities wish they could get away with. His self-titled show that airs on Adult Swim serves a parody of modern celebrity talk shows often utilizing gags that involve strange animals and gross food as he asks his guests a variety of bizarre questions, and this formula has proven wildly successful for Andre. Just last year, the comedian returned from a brief hiatus to debut the fifth season of his wildly popular television show, providing fans of the comedian’s off-kilter brand of comedy with a glimmer of hope as the COVID pandemic waged on. Now fans of the comedian have even more to look forward to: his new film with Netflix titled Bad Trip is set to debut on March 26th, and the streaming giant has just provided us with a new trailer that takes Andre’s sense of humor to a whole new level.
While the COVID-19 pandemic has stunted most creative efforts, Eric Andre appears to be thriving. The return of his acclaimed television show last year was met with rave reviews and now, and his partnership with Netflix has already led to a stand-up special that released last June. Now, Netflix and Andre are bringing his talents to the big screen in the form of a project titled Bad Trip, a semi-fictitious story where Andre will employ his pranks in real time on unsuspecting bystanders and the new trailer released by Netflix puts that on full display. Andre will also be joined by Tiffany Haddish for the fictitious part of the film, seemingly a perfect counterpart for the insanity of Eric Andre.
As consumers have been forced to quarantine for the better part of a year at this point, Netflix has remained a powerhouse for new content. The partnership with Andre seems like a no-brainer for the streaming giant, and Andre appears to be making the absolute most out of it. After a four year hiatus where the most we got from Andre were tweets and Instagram posts, the comedian is back in Hollywood’s spotlight and isn’t holding back even the least bit. Fans can look forward to the release of Bad Trip on March 26th, just a few short weeks away.
