Final ‘Superman’ Trailer Unveils Hopeful New Beginning For The DC Universe

The final trailer for DC Studios’ upcoming movie Superman has come in at full speed ahead of its release. It begins with Lois Lane interviewing Clark Kent/Superman, and the superhero declaring that he’s getting a foreign war. From there, a building collapses, and Superman is pulled from a crater by an everyday citizen. Then more action scenes come into play, like a woman with spinning blades for hands fighting off robots at the Fortress of Solitude, Lex Luthor full of rage, and glimpses of heroes like Mister Terrific, Hawkgirl, Green Lantern, and Superman’s four-legged friend, Krypto.

Superman marks the beginning of a new DC Universe under James Gunn and Peter Safran, making its success especially important for Warner Bros. Discovery and DC Studios. On set last summer, Gunn explained that although he was inspired by previous Superman films, especially Richard Donner’s classic, he aimed to do something different. He mentioned All-Star Superman as a huge influence, including other films like Top Gun: Maverick for their thrilling action.

Superman tells the story of the superhero’s journey to balance his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent in Smallville, Kansas. He embodies truth, justice, and the American way, guided by human kindness in a world that often sees kindness as old-fashioned.

Superman hits theaters on July 11. The cast includes David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Superman, Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, María Gabriela de Faría as The Engineer, and much more.
