Final Trailer For ‘Michael’ Releases

The final trailer for Lionsgate’s Michael has officially dropped. Starring Jaafar Jackson as the King of Pop, the clip showcases Michael performing some of his most iconic hits, including “Beat It,” “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’,” and more. It also gives fans a preview of his signature looks, like his glittery white glove and red leather jacket from the “Thriller” music video.

The film explores Michael Jackson’s life and legacy, showing how he became one of the most influential pop and R&B artists of all time.

The movie follows Jackson’s journey from being discovered as a young kid and being the lead singer of the Jackson Five to becoming a music superstar. It explores both his life on stage and behind the scenes, while pointing out some of his most memorable early solo performances. Lionsgate also released a clip showing a performance of the classic song “Billie Jean.”

The film also stars Nia Long as Katherine Jackson, Miles Teller as John Branca, Colman Domingo as Joe Jackson, and Laura Harrier as Suzanne de Passe. The movie is directed by Antoine Fuqua and written by John Logan.

The production took a long time to complete. Lionsgate once considered splitting the story into two movies, but later decided to release it as one film. A sequel could still happen if the movie performs well at the box office. The movie now ends during the Bad Tour, showing Jackson entering a new phase of his career.

Michael will premiere in theaters on April 24, 2026, with early access screenings beginning April 22 in IMAX and Dolby.
