Few actors or actresses have achieved the status that Tom Hanks has earned throughout his tenure in Hollywood. Jump Starting his career with the timeless classic Forrest Gump and never looking back since, the esteemed actor has rightfully earned his spot in the entertainment industry through decades of hard work. He continues to be one of the hardest working men in Hollywood to this day, most recently starring in the 2020 film News of the World. Now a new Tom Hanks film is on the horizon, with the first official photos and release date for Finch being unveiled by Apple earlier this week.
Set to be directed by Miguel Sapochnik, Finch follows a robotic engineer who is among the lone survivors of a catastrophic solar event. Hanks is set to play the engineer at the heart of the film, utilizing his skills to rebuild society as best he can alongside his beloved pet dog, Goodyear. He even builds a robot to look after the pet once he no longer can that is set to be played by Caleb Landry Jones, who recently appeared in the Academy Award winning 2017 film Get Out. Now Apple has unveiled the first official photos for the film seen below, showcasing the aforementioned characters, as well as the release date for the upcoming project. Finch is set to officially debut on Apple TV+ on November 5th.
Tom Hanks’ resume certainly speaks for itself at this point in his career. Not only did he star in one of the most timeless films in the history of Hollywood, but he also voices one of the most famous animated characters ever as Woody in the Toy Story franchise. To date, his IMDB page lists 94 acting credits since his career began in the 1980’s. Finch will be next on that list, and is set to premiere in a few short months on Apple TV+.
