Jackie Chan has given an exciting update about Rush Hour 4. During a red carpet event for his new action movie Karate Kid: Legends, he spoke with Screen Rant about the highly-anticipated film Rush Hour 4. Somewhere in the discussion, he was asked about the movie’s development. In response, the actor shared that it’s in the hands of the director, studio, and writer. He jokingly added that he and Chris Tucker will be old men or rather 100 years old by the time the cameras start rolling.
The interviewer asked Jackie Chan if he was interested in doing the project, and he responded with enthusiasm. He confirmed he’s eager to return for more films, saying, “Yes! I want to do another Shanghai Knights, Shanghai Dawn… The script is still in the works. I also want to do Rush Hour 4.”

Back in 2023, Chris Tucker, who plays James Carter in the Rush Hour series, also hinted at the sequel and shared his excitement about working with Chan again. He said, “Rush Hour 4 is definitely something I’d love to do because I enjoy working with Jackie. I’ve also got some new things coming that I think fans will love.”
While all three previous Rush Hour films were directed by Brett Ratner, it’s unclear if he will return for a fourth. Ratner reportedly stepped back from Hollywood in 2018 following multiple misconduct allegations.
