Marvel Studios’ highly anticipated movie Blade has been removed from next year’s release calendar. Meanwhile, Predator: Badlands has swiped its previous theatrical release date. Disney’s decision to delay the film may stem from not having a director onboard. Movie buffs should also consider that Blade has been postponed several times before.
Marvel announced its Blade reboot, which stars Oscar winner Mahershala Ali, in July 2019. However, the film’s development has been tricky because several writers and directors have left the project hastily over the years. It was initially scheduled for production in the fall of 2022. However, filmmaker Bassam Tariq stepped away from it due to differing visions for its creative direction.
The news about Blade being shelved comes after Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige spoke to Blacktree TV during his press tour for Deadpool & Wolverine. During the discussion, Feige discussed perfecting Blade for fans.
“For the last few years, as we’ve been trying to crack that movie, the most important thing for us is not rushing it and making sure we are making the right Blade movie, he stated. “Because there were some great Blade movies years ago.”
Eric Pearson, known for his work in Black Widow and Thor: Ragnarok, is the film’s scriptwriter. It was scheduled to be released on November 7, 2025.
The Predator franchise kicked off in 1987 and starred Arnold Schwarzenegger. The movie focuses on an alien hunter who travels to Earth to fight against its most dangerous prey.
