Marvel has officially chosen a director for its upcoming X-Men reboot. According to Comic Book, Thunderbolts filmmaker Jake Schreier is foreseeing the project. The announcement was teased during a huge update about Marvel’s upcoming movies, which all drop in 2028. In the next three years, MCU will go in with a bang as it follows Avengers: Secret Wars, a movie that’s expected to reset the entire Marvel universe. After entering Phase Seven, all Marvel characters, from the Avengers to Spider-Man and the old X-Men and Fantastic Four series, will finally be part of one shared world. The X-Men reboot is expected to be one of the biggest and most important releases of this phase, with high hopes of being a blockbuster.

Schreier made a mark in the film industry after working on Netflix’s comedy-drama series, Beef. But his recent work in Thunderbolts really turned heads! He’s also linked to Joanna Calo, the showrunner of The Bear and writer on BoJack Horseman and Hacks.

Marvel has reinvented the X-Men franchise on many occasions. More recently, they dropped an animated series called X-Men ’97, which put the team of mutants in a different light.
