Every year, NBC puts on a New Year’s Eve spectacle to ring in the New Year hosted by former Total Request Live host Carson Daly alongside a multitude of guests that millions tune into every year to celebrate the festive holiday. While this has been the trend for 16 years, things are seemingly set to change this year with a new Lorne Michaels-produced New Year’s Eve special. Notorious for executive producing the timeless series Saturday Night Live, he has decided to helm this year’s festivities and has enlisted the help of some promising talent to ring in the New Year. Set to be hosted by Miley Cyrus and SNL legend Pete Davidson, viewers can instead look forward to Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party Hosted by Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson on NBC this holiday season.
While many have grown accustomed to the Carson Daly-led events that have taken place on December 31st for the better part of two decades now, it looks like some felt it was time for a change and a big change is in order this year. Instead, viewers at home will be ringing in the New Year with Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson in the new special Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party Hosted by Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson which is set to replace the traditional NBC holiday special this year. Produced by Saturday Night Light heavyweight Lorne Michaels, the producer clearly tapped into his extensive rolodex of talent to fill out this special and Columbia Records has promised a “star-studded lineup of special guests and musical performances” to highlight the brand-new program. Set to take place in Miami from 10:30 PM ET on December 31st until 12:30 AM, fans can get ready to ring in the New Year in new fashion and can catch Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party Hosted by Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson on NBC as well as streaming live on Peacock.
While many have grown accustomed to watching the ball drop in Times Square on New Year’s Eve, a change of plans is in order and NBC is seemingly committed to making the change. Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party Hosted by Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson will likely be a welcome change amongst viewers if it lives up to its hype, and with Lorne Michaels behind the effort it’s difficult to imagine it not. Only time will tell however, and viewers can find out for themselves when they tune in to NBC on December 31st to ring in the New Year with Miley Cyrus and Pete Davidson.
