Netflix has just released the first trailer for the second season of Wednesday, the hit horror-comedy show starring Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams.
The new season will be released in two parts. Part 1 will premiere on August 6 while Part 2 will drop on September 3. In the trailer, Wednesday returns to Nevermore Academy for another year, but not without tricking the TSA PreCheck with violent gizmos. Her mom Morticia, played by Catherine Zeta-Jones, is surprised about Wednesday’s excitement to go back to school because she usually hates doing so. She follows up by explaining how it’s like “returning to the scene of a crime.”

The clip also shows her reuniting with her bubbly roommate Enid, played by Emma Myers, and other familiar faces from the Addams family, including Gomez, played by Luis Guzmán, Pugsley, played by Isaac Ordonez, and Uncle Fester, played by Fred Armisen. A new character, the school’s principal Barry Dort who’s played by Steve Buscem is also introduced. The trailer teases some creepy dolls and other spine-chilling surprises as well. The second season even sees Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor reprising their respective roles.
There will also be guest stars like Christopher Lloyd, who played Uncle Fester in the 1991 movie, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.

This season was filmed in Ireland, unlike the first season, which was mostly shot in Romania. Created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar with creative direction from Tim Burton, the first season of Wednesday racked in some pretty impressive numbers for Netflix. It became Netflix’s most-watched English-language show, earning 252 million views and it stayed in the global Top 10 for 20 weeks.
