Superman actor Nicholas Hoult, who plays Lex Luthor, recently shared a few details about the upcoming sequel, *Man of Tomorrow*.
In a chat with GQ, Hoult said he hasn’t read James Gunn’s script yet, but he hopes to soon. He’s excited to return as Luthor, saying there’s still a lot to explore with the character and that fans might be surprised by what’s coming.
Hoult also said he loves working with Gunn, calling him a “wonderful director” and saying they recently talked about ideas for the sequel.

The actor added that playing a villain is fun because it gives him more freedom. “There’s nothing you can do that’s wrong,” he said, explaining that he enjoys getting inside the mind of a character like Lex Luthor.
Man of Tomorrow is scheduled for release on July 9, 2027. David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, and Rachel Brosnahan will reprise their respective roles.
The title “Man of Tomorrow” is one of Superman’s nicknames and has also been used in various comic books and a 2020 animated movie, although it’s unclear if the new film will follow those stories.
