Horror fans, mark your calendars — just a little later than expected. Paramount Pictures has officially delayed the release of A Quiet Place Part III, shifting the highly anticipated sequel from July 9th, 2027, to July 30, 2027 (via Deadline). The move clears the way for James Gunn’s Superman: Man of Tomorrow to take the earlier date, giving Krasinski’s latest entry in the franchise a solo summer slot.
The fourth installment, still showered in mystery, sees John Krasinski returning to direct, write, and produce, continuing his deep creative involvement in the franchise. While casting announcements and plot details remain tightly under wraps, anticipation is high for the next chapter in the series that has consistently combined suspense, emotional resonance, and inventive storytelling.
Since the original 2018 film, A Quiet Place has become a landmark in modern horror. Krasinski and Emily Blunt led a cast that included Noah Jupe and Millicent Simmonds, earning critical acclaim and a global box office of approximately $341 million for the first film alone. The sequel, A Quiet Place Part II, dealt with delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic but opened to strong numbers on Memorial Day 2021, grossing $57 million over its first four days and finishing at $297.3 million worldwide.
Expanding the universe, 2024’s prequel, A Quiet Place: Day One, explored the early days of the alien invasion in New York City, starring Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn. It opened to $52.2 million and closed at around $262 million globally, solidifying the franchise’s status as both a critical and commercial powerhouse. Altogether, the A Quiet Place saga has amassed over $900 million worldwide.
While plot details for Part III remain under wraps, Krasinski’s return guarantees a continuation of the series’ signature tension and emotional stakes. The three-week delay may be brief, but it allows the film to avoid a box-office showdown with a major superhero release and gives fans a clear window to experience the next chapter in what has become one of the most successful contemporary horror franchises.
With the foundation of suspense and smart storytelling already set by its predecessors, A Quiet Place Part III is shaping up to be a summer event in its own right. As the release approaches, audiences will undoubtedly be excited to see how Krasinski continues to evolve the world of silence, fear, and human resilience.
