Before Travis Scott dropped his hit single, “Mamacita,” with Rich Homie Quan and Young Thug, Quan had all rights to the record.
During the rapper’s time on DJ Akademik’s Off The Records podcast, he had dibs on the beat for Mamacita until Travis got to hear it. Metro Boomin created the aforementioned production.
“After we did ‘Mamacita,’ ‘Mamacita’ was my song,” Rich Homie Quan said. “Bro, you gon fact check. I’m dropping you gems. ‘Mamacita’ was my song. Travis Scott, he know it, he’ll keep it real with you. Thug will tell you that. You know Thug can’t talk right now, free my boy, but Travis Scott will tell you that was my song.”
Quan also talked about his favorite rappers in the game right now and feeling a rift between himself, London on da Track, and Wheezy.
“Hardest n-gga outside of Atlanta, the most talented of this younger generation: Kodak Black,” Rich Homie Quan said.
