Scary Movie, formerly referred to as Scary Movie 6, is releasing a week early, thanks to the positive feedback its trailer received. Instead of hitting theaters on June 12, it’ll now drop on June 5th. Because of this, the sixth movie in the iconic horror parody franchise will go against Masters of the Universe for the top spot at the box office. Originally, it was scheduled to coincide with Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day.
Anna Faris, Regina Hall, and creators/stars Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans are set to reprise their roles as Cindy, Brenda, Shorty, and Ray. Returning cast members also include Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Jon Abrahams.
Other cast members like Damon Wayans Jr., Gregg Wayans, Kim Wayans, Benny Zielke, Cameron Scott Roberts, Heidi Gardner, Olivia Rose Keegan, Ruby Snowber, Savannah Lee Nassif, Sydney Park, and Felissa Rose plan on making a spook as well.
Meanwhile, Michael Tiddes will take directorial control once again. Scary Movie is written by Marlon, Shawn, Keenen Ivory Wayans, and Rick Alvarez.

Scary Movie puts a hilarious twist on this day and age’s most popular horror films like Scream, Halloween, Longlegs, Weapons, Get Out, Smile, The Substance, Terrifier, and more. The plot starts twenty-six-years later after escaping Ghostface. During that time, the group finds themselves targeted by him once again and must find out how to stop the slash killer once and for all.
The franchise began with Scary Movie in 2000, followed by Scary Movie 2 in 2001. Although the Wayans brothers left after the second film, the series continued with Scary Movie 3 (2003), Scary Movie 4 (2006), and Scary Movie 5 (2013).
