Netflix has released the official trailer for Tyler Perry and DeVon Franklin’s new romantic drama film Ruth & Boaz. In the clip, Serayah and Tyler Lepley play the lead roles of biblical characters Ruth and Boaz. The plot centers on their biblical love story and Ruth’s rough transition from Atlanta’s music scene, finding true love, and coming across a mother figure she always wanted. Moreover, Serayah plays Ruth Moably, a rising R&B singer who leaves behind her fame after a personal loss. She starts over in rural Tennessee, caring for her late boyfriend’s mother, and unexpectedly finds love and new purpose with Boaz, a kind vineyard owner.
Perry shared his excitement about the film, saying, “I’m excited to start my partnership with DeVon Franklin with Ruth & Boaz. The trailer is here, and I can’t wait for everyone to see this powerful love story. I’m really looking forward to audiences experiencing the film when it comes out. Directed by Alanna Brown, Ruth & Boaz is written by Michael Elliot and Cory Tynan. The film is also executive produced by Bart Lipton, Tony L. Strickland, and Angi Bones.
