Star Wars: The Acolyte has triumphantly claimed the No. 1 position on Disney+’s viewership list this year after officially debuting on June 4. On its premiere day, the series garnered a staggering 4.8 million views. It’s worth noting that one view was calculated “by dividing the number of hours each title is watched by its runtime.”
The viewership of Star Wars: The Acolyte outshone shows like X-Men ’97, Echo, and Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 3, among others. This is a remarkable achievement for the Star Wars-based show, especially in light of the negative reviews it received from Metacritic and Rotten Tomatoes users.
“An investigation into a shocking crime spree pits a respected Jedi Master against a dangerous warrior from his past,” the show’s logline reads. “As more clues emerge, they travel down a dark path where sinister forces reveal all is not what it seems.”
Star Wars: The Acolyte stars Amandla Stenberg as Osha and Mae, Carrie-Anne Moss as Master Indara, and Lee Jung-jae as Master Sol. Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Rebecca Henderson, and others are also in the cast.
Star Wars: The Acolyte is currently Disney+’s most-viewed show of 2024.
