The Sharknado and American Pie star Tara Reid might be exactly who they were looking for. Reid’s manager revealed the news that she is being considered for the role of Joe Exotic’s nemesis Carole Baskin in a new scripted film inspired by the hit documentary.
“We are in talks with the producers and she is being considered, that is all I can say at the moment as casting is on hold,” Philippe Ashfield told Page Six.
“Tara loves Tiger King and found the documentary extremely interesting. She feels she could get into the character of Carole Baskin very well… and she has a similar look to Baskin.”
Reid is definitely not the first actor to be linked to one of the various Tiger King-related projects in development. SNL star Kate McKinnon has also been tapped to portray her own version of Carole Baskin in Universal Content Productions’ adaptation of Wondery’s Joe Exoctic podcast. In addition, Nicolas Cage has reportedly signed on to play Joe Exotic himself in an eight-episode series from Imagine Television Studios and CBS Television Studios.
We can’t wait to see how this gets put together. Should be one interesting cast!
