Amazon MGM Studios has revealed that The Pickup, starring Eddie Murphy, Pete Davidson, and Keke Palmer, will premiere on Prime Video on Aug. 6. There’s also a new poster and stills that give moviegoers a feel of what to expect in the action-comedy film. Directed by Tim Story, the visionary behind movies like The Blackening, Barbershop, and Ride Along, The Pickup follows two mismatched truck drivers named Russell (Murphy) and Travis (Davidson) who get raided by a group of criminals whose ringleader is Palmer’s character Zoe. Forced to work together, Russell and Travis team up to fight against different personalities, risky obstacles, and a day that gets worse over time.
The Pickup also features an ensemble of talented actors like Eva Longoria, Marshawn Lynch, Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoa’i, Andrew Dice Clay, and Ismael Cruz Córdova. The script is written by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider, with John Davis, John Fox, Murphy, Story, and Charisse Hewitt-Webster producing the film.
