Toosii Returns Home With Heart With 200 Free Turkeys, A New Hunxho Collaboration, and A Bold New Chapter
WRAL
Multi-platinum recording artist Toosii made an unforgettable return to Raleigh this past Saturday, transforming the Southeast Raleigh YMCA into a lighthouse of holiday generosity and hometown pride. The 25-year-old rapper distributed 200 free turkeys to local families as part of his long-standing annual community giveaway, a tradition he has upheld for the past three to four years. For Toosii, this homecoming wasn’t just another appearance. It was a full-circle moment of gratitude toward the community that raised him.
Running from noon to 2 P.M., the event blended service with celebration as families lined up to receive holiday essentials, many expressing appreciation for an artist who continues to invest in his roots.
“I know what it’s like around the holidays to not be able to have certain things. I just want everybody to feel appreciated and be able to celebrate with their family and loved ones” Toosii shared.
This year’s giveaway was made possible through a collaborative effort with the Southeast Raleigh YMCA, reinforcing the organization’s mission to strengthen community support systems during the holiday season. Publicist Sabrina Little emphasized the heart behind Toosii’s consistent outreach:
“Toosii has always been vocal about honoring his roots, and this annual giveaway is his way of showing love to the people who poured into him long before the world knew his name”.
Making the visit more than about giving back, it also marked the reveal of major updates in his ever-evolving career. Recently, the Syracuse-born, Raleigh-raised star shook up the music world with the announcement of his acceptance of a Division I football scholarship from Sacramento State University. Preparing to step onto the field as a slot receiver, Toosii is embracing a rare dual-career path, balancing athletics with his established presence in Hip-Hop.
“I’ve been loving football since I was a kid, and I feel like God put me in a position that I’m in today to be able to go back and do that,” he told WRAL. His leap into collegiate football highlights his multidimensional journey—proof that passion can take shape in more than one arena.
Still, fans of his music have much to anticipate. Toosii revealed plans for a special 26th birthday bash in January and announced a collaboration project with Hunxho, the rising Greensboro rapper who has been making waves across the Carolinas. The forthcoming joint effort highlights Toosii’s continued commitment to cultivating North Carolina’s Hip-Hop ecosystem while bridging creative energy across the region.
This weekend’s turkey giveaway radiated with the same warmth and sincerity that has come to define Toosii’s public presence. He greeted new faces, embraced familiar ones, and showed, once again, that his artistry extends far beyond the studio. Through philanthropy, collaboration, and fearless reinvention, Toosii is carving out a path that’s uniquely his own. One that is rooted in community, driven by purpose, and fueled by the belief that you can always come back home.
