The Weeknd is set to release an album tonight with a track that name-drops his famous ex, Selena Gomez. The “Starboy” has registered a song called “Like Selena” with the ASCAP, E! News reports, but this isn’t the first time The Weeknd sung about his love for Gomez.
The stars began dating in early 2017 but broke things off later that year. At that point, The Weeknd released “Call Out My Name,” allegedly based on their rocky romance, which ended when Gomez dumped him and got back together with on-and-off love Justin Bieber, who’s now married to Hailey Baldwin.
Monday evening , The Weeknd returned to Instagram after a hiatus to announce new music is on the way. “The fall starts tomorrow night,” he posted. Back in August, he tweeted that he was in “album mode.”
