28 Years Later will be released in Summer 2025 as the third installment of the ”28” franchise, Sony Pictures announced. After reports of the film being in progress, director Danny Boyle and Alex Garland express aspirations for the film to become a trilogy in the near future.
The original film is based on a bicycle courier who wakes up from a coma just to realize a disease turns his peers into flesh eating killers. In doing so, it changed the landscape of the horror zombie genre.
28 Days Later was a horror zombie classic to many viewers. It was one of the first zombie movies that garnered a lot of attention throughout the years. The day symbolizes the spread of the flesh eating disease and how it will affect everybody by the 28th day.
