Dreamville Festival has announced they are canceling their 2020 event due to public safety concerns caused by coronavirus. The second annual edition of the one-day music fest, hosted by J. Cole and his roster of talented artists under Dreamville Records, was originally set to take place on April 6 at Dorothea Dix Park in Raleigh, N.C., but was rescheduled to Aug. 29 after the pandemic struck across the nation.
Like numerous other events that were set to take place this year, it will now have to wait until 2021. With the social distancing guidelines still in effect and no vaccine for the COVID-19 virus it seems like the most reasonable thing to do. Dreamville says all 2020 ticket holders will be reimbursed soon.
Music festivals as a whole have suffered greatly throughout the pandemic with most shows like Coachella, The Roots Picnic, SXSW, and many more postponing or ultimately canceling their festivals. While we wait for the virus to slowly disappear, Dreamville encourages its followers to, “…stay safe, healthy, and sane,” so that they may reunite with us in 2021.
