On Sunday, Kanye West dropped a new track in honor of his mother, who departed this earth back in 2007. The song is titled “DONDA” and sees Kanye West’s mother reciting KRS1 lyrics while Yeezy adds his flair for the remaining one minute and thirty-three seconds.
Earlier that day, Kim Kardashian West posted on her Twitter page a short clip of Kanye West and his mother rapping in unison to a classic of his called, “Hey Mama.”
West also accompanied the heartfelt jam with a music video, and surprisingly, it cannot be found on any streaming services. To announce “DONDA,” West hopped on his Twitter page, penning, “In loving memory of my incredible mother on her birthday 🕊 My mom reciting KRS1 lyrics This song is called DONDA.”
The debut of “DONDA” follows his collaboration with FKA Twigs and Skrillex on Ty Dolla $ign’s “Ego Death.”
