Sorry Batman fans! Filming for the highly anticipated DC movie has been pushed back again. It was revealed that someone on the set had contracted COVID-19, but not just anyone. Robert Pattinson, the new Dark Knight, was reportedly the one who had tested positive for the disease.
The first COVID-19 related shutdown of The Batman lasted almost 6 months. However, the Warner Bros. statement suggested that the latest suspension won’t be as long. Despite proper protocols that assumingely go above and beyond considering it’s a major production, it is obvious that there is still a health risk for these kinds of projects. Pattinson would not be the only celebrity who has contracted COVID-19 either. Many high profile actors tested positive such as Tom Hanks and most recently, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
The Batman is scheduled to release in theaters on October 1, 2021. Cast members include Paul Dano as The Riddler, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth, and Jeffrey Wright as James Gordon. Watch the trailer below.
