When it debuted on Netflix in 2016, Stranger Things took the world by storm and rocked the foundation of traditional television. Drawing comparisons to acclaimed television series like Twin Peaks, the Netflix original series was telling an original story in such a thought provoking manner that individuals of every background were captivated. At the same time Stranger Things was one of the first original series that Netflix had produced and its immense success ushered in a new era of consumption. Traditional television was becoming a thing of the past more and more with every passing year and if Netflix could successfully produce their own original content, it could potentially be the final nail in the coffin. Five years later and that trend has only persisted, with the fourth season of Stranger Things approaching rather quickly.
The brainchild of The Duffer Brothers, Stranger Things has been pushing the envelope of what is possible in a 45 minute time frame since its debut. A healthy blend of elements both sci-fi and horror, the series is cerebral in a way that many series today fail to replicate. The latest season for season four highlights this, showcasing a group of children in what appears to be a rather eerie hospital. This is a nod to the character Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown, and her origins, something that has plagued fans of the series since its initial release. As 2021 passes by, it seems like Netflix is gearing up for something big. This is the second teaser released for the upcoming season of Stranger Things, the first of which confirming that David Harbour’s character Jim Hopper is still live and well despite events that precipitated at the end of last season. Given said events, virtually nobody has even the slightest clue what the streaming giant has in store for fans. Until they decide to let us in on the party, fans will just have to remain patient and excited.
