90’s babies sit tight a Smart Guy reboot may just be headed your way! Smart Guy was a 90’s sitcom that aired on WB and if you’re a die hard fan, I’m sure you remember the theme song. Smart Guy, staring Tahj Mowry who played T.J. on the show, was about a boy genius who gets bumped from fourth grade to high school. The show ran for three season and also starred John Marshall Jones, Jason Weaver, Essence Atkins, and Omar Gooding.
Mowry revealed recently to ET while talking about his new movie Welcome Matt, that a Smart Guy reboot is in the works. Although confirming that the reboot is in very early stages the actor gave fans a promising hope when stating,
“There’s been lots of Zoom meetings and talks about this, so we do have the ball rolling on it. It’s just a matter of time and timing, but we do have the possible home for it. We do have a writer, and I feel like I came up with a really fresh take on how we can bring that back with the whole cast and something that is fresh and new. But also something that the diehard fans will still get that nostalgic aspect of it as well.”
He also hinted that the original cast may even be featured in the reboot stating, “We’re still in the pre-phases. But if all goes according to plan, everyone will be in it.” Sounds very promising!
