Puff Daddy aka P. Diddy, born Sean Combs has done it again! “Welcome to the Love Era,” Diddy announced across his social media platforms, after officially changing his name to Sean “Love” Combs. Yes, the hip hop mogul now wants to be known as, Love. Passionately expressing the importance of spreading love on his platforms and even revealing that he’s found his true purpose. But can there really be a love era without R&B? Diddy doesn’t seem to think so.
In the latest Vanity Fair article which features pictures of Diddy and his daughters, he revealed his plans of starting a R&B label. The mogul said, “I feel like R&B was abandoned and it’s a part of our African American culture.” Diddy elaborated on his plans of ensuring that African Americans own R&B. He continued by stating the label would be, “50-50 partnerships with pure transparency. We don’t own hip-hop right now. We have a chance to — own R&B.”
It’s very apparent that Diddy is making his way back to the music industry. Just recently the mogul announced that he would be releasing an album in September. The album, OFF THE GRID, would be his first full length album in over 10 years, his last release was his 2006, Press Play. There’s no word yet on the name of his upcoming label or if he’s already scouted out R&B artists to partner with. However, what we do know is that Diddy aka Love is the King of Innovation, so expect greatness!
