Even just a decade ago, LGBTQ+ culture struggled to find its footing in Hollywood despite how prevalent the community may be in the entertainment industry. Thanks to the work of Ellen Degeneres and other LGBTQ+ advocates that used their platform for change, that has since changed dramatically. Now, this community is at the forefront of Hollywood with LGBTQ+ friendly television shows and films becoming increasingly popular by the day. A new series is going to expand upon this even further, with one of those previously mentioned advocates set to star in it: Neil Patrick-Harris has been cast as the lead of a new Netflix series currently in production, Uncoupled.
Set in New York City, Uncoupled tells the story of a man named Michael, played by the incredibly talented NPH, who is blindsided when his husband of almost two decades leaves him. Now he is forced to deal with the pain of such a loss, while additionally navigating through the dating world as a 40-something gay man in The Big Apple. No small task for anybody, straight or gay, but if any many can do it, it is certaily Neil Patrick-Harris. The series was created by Darren Star, the brain behind another successful Netflix series Emily in Paris, and Patrick-Harris will additionally serve as Executive Producer on the project.
Neil Patrick-Harris is one of the biggest faces in the LGBTQ+ community and has been for many years. His charm is impossible for even the most hateful of people to not admire, and he has been extremely successful as a result.
