A new trailer for Jumanji: Open World has been released. Starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jack Black, the movie represents “Our world. New rules. One final game,” as captioned in the film’s post on Instagram. Jumanji: Open World will be the franchise’s fifth installment and the final chapter of the modern reboot trilogy.
The official synopsis reads, “This Christmas, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan are reunited in Jumanji: Open World, the hilarious final installment of the globally beloved action-adventure trilogy. Our heroes have escaped the perilous jungles of Jumanji before, but this time Jumanji breaks free of its console, unleashing its chaos into our world.”
The trailer takes place around Christmas and shows the Jumanji game transferring into the real world. Spencer and his mother are pulled into the game, where his mother becomes Bravestone, and Spencer takes on Ruby’s character. But this time, what happens inside the game also affects the real world. Ruby warns the group that things will only get harder and that losing could leave them with nowhere to return, no reset or second chance. In a word, the movie mixes comedy with plenty of action.

Jake Kasdan returns to direct the movie. He also co-wrote the story with Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg. Dwayne Johnson will return as Dr. Smolder Bravestone, while Jack Black reprises his role as Professor Shelly Oberon. Other returning cast members include Hart, Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Nick Jonas, and more. Meanwhile, Lamorne Morris, Britanny O’Grady, Burn Gorman, and Nasim Pedrad will make a grand entrance in the film.
